Taking inspiration from the unbalanced representation of the Everest summit, ‘1953’ is a graphic novel meant to shed light on the story of Tenzing Norgay. Norgay was a Sherpa whose participation was vastly undermined in the first summit of Mount Everest. Its colors flow with time and place, evoking different moods as the characters struggle and overcome. The novel features a wide variety of expressions, perspective, and landscape.
